\n[vc_column_text]The new activity calendar is here, and we already have volunteering days scheduled until the end of 2026.<\/p>\n

After a hot summer lived at a fast pace, it\u2019s time to return to the trails and enjoy nature as it slows down and paints itself in new colours. \ud83c\udf42[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_custom_heading][vc_single_image media=”29590″][\/vc_single_image][vc_column_text]The mission continues! This calendar includes our usual trail maintenance hikes across our extensive network of trails, as well as nature conservation activities in partnership with Mossy Earth.
\n<\/span>
\nThe calendar kicks off with our return to the <\/span><\/a>Sagres Birdwatching Festival.<\/a> We\u2019ll be there and will hold the first trail maintenance walk of the season at the beginning of October, on the 2nd. [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Taking part in these activities means much more than spending a day outdoors in the company of a fun group of people. It also means walking together towards a shared purpose: caring for this territory of the South-West Alentejo and Vicentine Coast<\/a>, and giving something back to Nature, which offers us so much of its beauty.
\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n

Trail Maintenance Hikes<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_custom_heading][\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]During our maintenance walks, we explore the trails together, fully equipped and carrying the necessary tools to carry out light maintenance work on a trail or section of the Rota Vicentina hiking trail<\/a> network.<\/span><\/p>\n

We call it light maintenance because it\u2019s the kind of work we can do while walking. This includes, for example, repainting trail markings on different types of surfaces, collecting any litter we find along the way, and cutting back vegetation that may be hiding the markings or blocking the path.<\/span><\/p>\n

These activities are an active way to explore the territory, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and support Rota Vicentina in its mission to keep the trails well-maintained, clean and accessible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conservation Activities with Mossy Earth<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]Working together is essential in a territory as vast as our South-West, and joining forces to protect Nature is a mission we are proud to embrace.<\/span><\/p>\n

These nature conservation activities are all about that. Here, Rota Vicentina and Mossy Earth invite you to look at the landscape from a slightly deeper perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n

We look at plants and soil, try to understand the ecosystem we are part of and the impact we can have \u2014 both negative and positive \u2014 and then\u2026 we roll up our sleeves!<\/span><\/p>\n

These activities are for those who don\u2019t mind getting their hands dirty, want to learn more about native flora and help control invasive species.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some even say they can be quite therapeutic! \ud83c\udf31<\/span> [\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”29604″][\/vc_single_image][vc_custom_heading]<\/p>\n
