FEI-TUR 2025: Rota Vicentina’s Focus on Cycling Trails

5 reading time

Talks, walks, rides, discounts, bike workshop and test drives for all!

The 2025 edition of FEI-TUR – the Southwest Tourism Fair, taking place from June 12 to 15, will feature a very special presence by Rota Vicentina. In addition to an expanded stand of 36 square meters, we’ll be bringing an exclusive programme fully dedicated to Cycling Trails in all their dimensions. Curious? Grab your bike and come explore!

Useful info for all FEI-TUR visitors: This year, you can bring your own bike for a check-up at the Rota Vicentina stand. Every day from 4 to 6 PM, we’ll have an open Bike Station available, where you can get a free bike diagnostic and, if you have an e-bike, charge your batteries.

Don’t have an e-bike but want to try one? Stop by our stand any day between 4 and 6 PM for a free test drive and discover a transport option that’s simple, accessible, eco-friendly, and healthy.

Sounds tempting, right? Come try it — we’ll lend you the bike!

For our Members, we’ll also have a dedicated space at the stand. The Members’ Corner is available for meetings and to display promotional materials from our partner businesses. Visit us and take the opportunity to get yourself known at FEI-TUR.

Group Walk & Ride

Whether you’re a fan of walking or cycling, Rota Vicentina offers two opportunities during FEI-TUR to explore the surroundings of Vila Nova de Milfontes.

On Friday, June 13, we’ll host a trail maintenance walk from Praia do Malhão to the FEI-TUR grounds — a 9 km hike along the Fishermen’s Trail, starting at 9 AM. We’ll be repainting trail markers and collecting any trash we find along the way.

We recommend comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water. The meeting point is the Rota Vicentina stand at FEI-TUR.

Interested? Sign up here – spots are limited.

On Sunday, June 15, the last day of the fair, we’ll wrap up our FEI-TUR programme with a group bike ride around Vila Nova de Milfontes, also starting at 9 AM and ending around 12 PM.

The route will cover 15 to 25 km through the municipality, using secondary roads and rural paths. It’s perfect for your gravel or mountain e-bike, or for the more experienced, a standard bike. Meeting point: Vila Nova de Milfontes Tourist Office. Arrival point: Rota Vicentina stand.

Talks with Special Guests

There’s a side of Rota Vicentina that’s made for cycling. In total, we offer over 1,000 km of MTB/Gravel routes, a long-distance crossing, and a Touring Bike/Cyclotourism route for those seeking nature, adrenaline, and authentic rural experiences in Portugal’s Southwest.

If you’d like to learn more about the routes, the apps, trail types, or how we define and map our cycling trails, join us daily from 5 to 6 PM at our stand for the talk series: “Perspectives on the Trails.”

Each day at 5 PM, at the Bike Café in our stand, we’ll host a different guest speaker sharing unique insights into cycling tourism:

Thursday, June 12
Eduardo Santos, passionate cyclist and Rota Vicentina expert: “My Favourite Trails”

Friday, June 13
Ricardo Gonzalez, from A2Z, an outdoor tourism company and Rota Vicentina member: “Off the Beaten Path”

Saturday, June 14
Pedro Almeida, Rota Vicentina’s cycling manager: Intro to the OutdoorActive Platform & App

Sunday, June 15
Pedro Caria, teacher and Director of Colos School, and frequent bike user:  “How to Promote a Cycling Culture”

If you run accommodation in the region, this one’s especially for you: Floema, a brand specialising in signage and sustainable equipment, will present Bike Friendly tourism equipment — a must for anyone wanting to welcome cycling tourists.

Don’t miss it: Friday, June 13, at 7 PM at our Bike Café.

FEI-TUR Discounts You Can’t Miss

As always, we’re offering exclusive discounts on official Rota Vicentina products:

Oficial white and green T-shirts (XS size only) will be on sale for just €5 instead of the usual €18.

The Topographic Map + Guide Book combo will be available for only €25 instead of €30.

The world of Rota Vicentina awaits you at FEI-TUR.

Come meet our team and discover the wide network of members working with us to support sustainable tourism in this region.

And don’t forget — our doors (and arms) are open to all your questions, feedback, and ideas. See you there!

Rota Vicentina at FEI-TUR is supported by Ebike Alentejo and Vicentina Travel through the provision of bicycles for exhibition.

The Municipality of Odemira supports Rota Vicentina’s Cycling Routes.
