Rota Vicentina Trails Take the Spotlight in the “Alentejo Singular” Summer Guide

As in previous years, Expresso, one of Portugal’s leading newspapers, has dedicated one of its Summer Guides to Odemira and everything that can be explored between the plains, the mountains, and the sea, with the Rota Vicentina trails taking center stage.

Under the theme “Alentejo Singular” the Summer Guide was included in the July 25, 2025 edition of the weekly Expresso and is entirely focused onOdemira county The cover story highlights the Rota Vicentina’s 1000 km of CyclingTrails.

Over the course of 34 pages, the guide invites readers, to explore the Rota Vicentina trails on two wheels, offering detailed information on how to enjoy it, whether by MTB/ Gravel, Touring Bike/Cyclotourism or through the Long Distance MTB Trail that connects all the entry points of the Odemira Cyclin’Portugal Centre.

The pedestrian TrailNetwork also get attention encouraging readers, to discover the joy of walking the Historical Way, Fishermen’s Trail and Circular Routes in Odemira.

In addition to testimonials from public figures connected to the region, the guide presents a variety of nature-based experiences — on land and in water — and invites visitors to explore the traditional fishing harbors. It also includes a curated list of “Portugal’s best beaches” within the protected Southwest Alentejo area.

To round things off, the guide features recommendations on cultural and heritage sites, as well as a detailed selection of restaurants and accommodation options for travelersincluding our Association’s Partnersin Odemira: Tasca do Celso, Porto das Barcas, Manjedoura, O Sacas, Costa Alentejana, A Barca Tranquitanas, and O Tarro.
