Rota Vicentina is featured in an eight-page story in VISÃO magazine, part of a special edition dedicated to Nature and walking in Portugal, where it is highlighted as “an example of sustainability.”
In this article, journalist Miguel Judas invites readers to experience the diversity of the territory crossed by Rota Vicentina — from the hills, along the Senhora das Neves Circular Route, through the Historical Way starting in Cercal do Alentejo, and all the way to the coast, with views over Pessegueiro Island, before joining the Fishermen’s Trail between Porto Covo and Vila Nova de Milfontes.
Along the way, several Rota Vicentina partner businesses are featured, each contributing to a unique experience at every stage of the journey and within the region:
Food & Restaurants: A.mar and Tasca do Celso
Accommodation: Monte da Bemposta, Casa do Lado and Herdade da Maceira
Activities: Finns Routes e Ecoalga
Local Crafts: Oficina na Escola
Transfers: Gohike!
The journalist also spoke with Sara Serrão, President of the Rota Vicentina Association, highlighting the origins of the project, its growing international recognition, and a broader reflection on the value of nature, the importance of its conservation, and the promotion of a more conscious way of travelling.
More than just a feature, this is an invitation to set off and discover Southwest Portugal step by step.
