Walks and activities calendar for May and June 2023

The summer heat has arrived in the Southwest and we are almost at the end of the recommended hiking season. However there is still time for some volunteering activities on our trails.

The volunteering calendar for May and June is now available! We’ve planned maintenance walks, conservation actions and other interesting activities for the next two months. Some of them will take place during the Week of Invasive Species 2023, between May 13th and May 21st. This initiative is promoted by Invasoras.pt project, Inveco (Portuguese Network for the Study and Management of Invasive Species by SPECO) and other entities based in Portugal and Spain.

Therefore, in June, Rota Vicentina association will be present at FEI~TUR – Southwest Tourism Fair, in Vila Nova de Milfontes. During this event, Rota Vicentina will also be promoting a nature conservation activity in Malhão’s temporary ponds.

Please note that in hot weather, there is a higher possibility of canceling maintenance walks. We will try to avoid cancellations by starting the activities earlier whenever possible.

To apply, simply fill out our online form. Places are limited but we do keep a waiting list once we exceed the number of available places. That’s why we appeal to your sense of commitment. Please confirm your participation or, let us know if you are unable to participate, so we can offer your place to another participant.
