The official walking and cycling season on the Rota Vicentina has come to an end.

Hot days call for refreshing swims, delightful picnics, dance parties, and of course, shorter hikes and bike rides in the cool breeze!

From September to June, the Alentejo and Vicentina Coast welcome walkers and cyclists, some residents and others just passing through, who let themselves be guided by the green and blue markers of the Fishermen’s Trail, the yellow, red, and white markers of the Historical Way and Circular Routes. Now, with the hot days approaching, it’s time to take a break from the big adventures and live at a slower pace… But wait, we don’t have to put away our hiking boots! We can still enjoy shorter walks (like the Circular Routes, for example) on cooler days when the sun isn’t so relentless.

When possible, grab a water bottle, a hat, and sunscreen, and follow the markers. Remember to check the weather forecast and, of course, share photos and stories on social media with the hashtag #rotavicentina to inspire others to take up the challenge. Moreover, this is a great time to start planning your next big trip on the Rota Vicentina! Get the official guidebook and map of the Rota Vicentina and start exploring all the incredible options that the Southwest of Portugal has to offer.

Dream about the trails you haven’t walked yet and jot down those unmissable hotspots along the way. Everything you need is on the official Rota Vicentina website: www.rotavicentina.com

See you soon on the trails of Rota Vicentina!
