"Bicycles, Boots & Beaches in Southern Portugal"

This is the title of the article that Paul Miles wrote about this area of Portugal when he walked the Rota Vicentina during the month of March on a three-day trip, ending in the Algarve.

The first night was at Quinta do Barranco da Estrada, partner accommodation of Rota Vicentina, where Paul savored ‘a jasmine-scented oasis of serenity’ with privileged view of the Santa Clara Lake. This area has the circular route launched in 2015, “Santa Clara Routes”, by Rota Vicentina.

On the second day, using the services of taxi driver Nélson Eliziário, which is part of the network of local companies, he headed for the coast where walked the Fishermen’s Trail and hade the chance to observe the  storks and their unusual habitat, nesting on cliffs in a unique situation in the world.
