220 KM with purpose on the Historical Way

When the journey becomes impact

Charity challenge supports cancer patients in Odemira

Between April 27 and 30, one of the most authentic trails in our Southwest becomes the stage for a challenge with a meaning that goes far beyond the landscape.

Milton Rodrigues sets out to cover 220 kilometers along the Historical Way of the Rota Vicentina (GR11-E9), crossing territories shaped by nature and local culture, on a rural route with several centuries of history.
But this time, the journey is not just geographical.

When the path gains a greater purpose

Following recent personal circumstances, Milton found in this challenge a way to give meaning to his effort, turning each step into a concrete contribution to the lives of others.
This challenge is therefore born with a clear mission: to support ONCOMIRA, an association created in Odemira that closely supports those facing cancer.

The power of a meaningful journey

The Historical Way of the Rota Vicentina is known for its authenticity, connecting villages, people, and stories.
And that is precisely what makes this challenge even more symbolic: each kilometer covered on this trail represents connection, resilience, and continuity.

Values that align with what drives Milton’s journey:

“More than running, I want every kilometer to count for something greater. This challenge is also about helping those facing far more difficult battles”

A way of transformation

Paths like this have something unique: they force us to slow down, to feel, to be present. And it is often in those moments, away from the noise, that decisions, changes, and new purposes emerge.

This is exactly the type of experience that also underpins the work we do at the Rota Vicentina Association: creating authentic connections between people, territory, and purpose.

Because when there is intention, the journey stops being just a route and becomes transformation.

A goal with real impact

This initiative has concrete targets:

• Raise €1,000 for ONCOMIRA • Secure €2 for each kilometer covered (220 km)

How to take part in this challenge?

The strength of this initiative lies in the community.
