🇬🇧 New Association Rota Vicentina created

2 minutos de leitura

The partnership created around Rota Vicentina was extended beyond its starting promoters, involving now about one hundred Sw Portugal tourism entrepeneurs and public sector partners, who have formally constituted an association.

The project, which created a 350 km Long Distance Path, between Santiago do Cacém city and Cape St. Vincent, was conceived and coordinated by the Association Casas Brancas, in collaboration with the Association Almargem, the municipalities and the regional tourism offices from Algarve and Alentejo.

With the goal of promoting nature tourism in Sw Portugal, along with the preservation of natural resources as a sustainability model for local economy, expanding the partnership is a natural evolution of a project that unites an entire region for a common cause which serves everyone – trekkers, local community and businesses, public institutions, environmentalists and national and international tourists.

Promoting the Rota Vicentina and help its commercialization, monitoring and maintaining the trails, raising awareness of the public, companies and institutions, as well as foment networking  are some of the Association’s goals.

The Association Rota Vicentina was founded by about one hundred entrepeneurs, but more affiliations are expected – tourism related services, but also individuals that appreciate the spirit of the project and public sector instituitions.

The Rota Vicentina – Association for the Promotion of Nature Tourism in Alentejo and Vincentina Coast – was officially founded on 05th June with the General Assembly Constituency and the election of Directorate’s elements on 09th July.

The directorate is presided by Marta Cabral, who has been leading the Rota Vicentina project since its beginning, as executive director of Casas Brancas. The elected vice-president is Rudolf Müller, which was Casas Brancas’s president for 10 years.
