Rota Vicentina receives the medal of tourist merit of Responsible Tourism

In this significant event, which focused on the main theme “tourism is value”, key figures from the Portuguese tourism sector came together, gathering operators, local and national entities, experts, and associations to discuss new trends and challenges in tourism.
During the awards ceremony, the efforts of those who significantly contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in the country were recognized.
A decade of commitment to responsible tourism
Representing Rota Vicentina at the ceremony was Marta Cabral, the Association’s President, who received the award on behalf of the entire team.
Receiving this recognition brings us particular satisfaction, as it confirms the value of our work over the past decade.
Feeling recognised for being the first to talk about responsible tourism in the region was a very emotional moment.
The Medal of Tourist Merit received in Mafra highlights the importance of sustainable tourism practices and the pioneering role that Rota Vicentina has played in promoting these values in Southwest Portugal.
Looking to the future
With an eye on the future, the Rota Vicentina Association continues to work toward building a tourism model that not only attracts visitors from all over the world but also helps to preserve the beauty and uniqueness of the region for future generations, maintaining a delicate balance between tourism development and environmental conservation.
